Eagle Ford Shale Play Map

The Eagle Ford Shale Play has been gaining attention over the last six months due to gas, gas/condensate and oil discoveries with good producing rates. It isn't uncommon to hear "Haynesville" uttered in the same breath, and that has many companies excited.

P2 Energy Solutions has seen an increase in interest in the area, and that's why this month's Tobin Monthly takes a look at where the lease activity is surrounding this emerging - yet old - South Texas shale play.

Read more about the Eagle Ford Shale play here.

Take a look at the major players in the Eagle Ford shale play here.

We also have a map showing the lease activity for the counties of the Eagle Ford shale play here.

We can also make custom GIS maps for the Eagle Ford, displaying competitor lease and well spot information.

The above information shows a number of counties; but, does not include Atascosa, Frio, Gonzales, Wilson, and other counties further east. There is also quite a bit of eagle ford leasing and drilling activity in those counties also. Do you have any recent info on those counties?

Frank - We have utilized multiple sources of information in the current Eagle Ford Shale activity/trend map (state well files, press releases, corporate financial summaries on activities, etc.) The Eagle Ford trend undoubtedly extends beyond the margins of the current trend map, like many new play trend maps, and over time there will be additions, modifications, and better definition of the ‘sweet spots’ of this particular reservoir. Like many other, we will follow expanding activity to this trend based on more corporate announcement extending the play, well data made available, and discovery notices.

We do offer well counts for Atascosa, Frio, Gonzales and Wilson counties. We also have leases for Atascosa and Frio.

I have a 160 acre ranch between Shiner and Hallettsville, Lavaca County Texas in the Eagle Ford Shale formation. I would like to see about leasing it for oil or gas. Glenn

Hello Glen - we don't facilitate the leasing of land, we only track who owns it and who leases it after the contracts are negotiated. Good luck!

It would be nice to see an updated map to include Atascosa, Wilson, and Gonzales counties and to know more about drilling activity in those counties. These are all included in the Eagle Ford Shale play. Thanks. Frank Childress
